Microsoft Developer

Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD): Web Developer

Overview

The Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD) credential highlights your job role, featuring your specific area of expertise.  Now you can easily distinguish yourself as an expert in Web application development.

Who's It For?

The Microsoft Certified Professional Developer: Web Developer is for Web Developers who use Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 to develop on .NET Framework 2.0.

Prerequisites

Ability to demonstrate comprehensive skills required to build interactive, data-driven Web applications that use ASP.NET 2.0 for both intranet and Internet uses.

Path To Certification

MCPD: Web Developer candidates must first complete the requirements for the MCTS: .NET Framework 2.0 Web Applications certification (two exams). After earning this certification, candidates may earn their MCPD: Web Developer by passing one additional required exam.

Upgrade from MCAD or MCSD

If you are a Microsoft Certified Application Developer (MCAD), you can upgrade to the MCPD: Web Developer certification by taking one upgrade exam, Exam 70–551: UPGRADE: MCAD Skills to MCPD: Web Developer by Using the Microsoft .NET Framework.  By passing this upgrade exam, you will automatically obtain the relevant MCTS prerequisite, MCTS: .NET Framework 2.0 Web Applications.

If you have already passed Exam 70–552: UPGRADE: MCAD Skills to MCPD: Windows Developer by Using the Microsoft .NET Framework, you may obtain the MCPD: Web Developer certification by passing the following additional exams:

Exam 70–528: TS: Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 - Web-Based Client Development

Exam 70–547: PRO: Designing and Developing Web Applications by Using the Microsoft .NET Framework

If you are a Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD) on Microsoft .NET and have passed Exam 70–553: UPGRADE: MCSD Microsoft .NET Skills to MCPD: Enterprise Application Developer by Using the Microsoft .NET Framework: Part 1, you may obtain the MCPD: Web Developer certification by passing the following additional exam:
