MCSA: Windows Server 2008
As the most recent Windows Server 2008 certification, the MCSA: Windows Server 2008 provides the foundation for your professional career, and is one option for the first level of the most recent Microsoft certifications focusing on Cloud technologies, leading to the MCSE and MCSM.
The MCSA: Windows Server 2008 certification requires three exams. More or less coursework may be required, based on your level of experience.
MCTS: Windows Server 2008 Certifications
Please Note: These certifications will be retired on July 31, 2013. The MCSA: Windows Server 2008 certification and corresponding exams will remain in market.

Microsoft's MCTS certifications allow you to focus your time and energy on exams and certifications that are very specific to your working environment. Obtain one or more of the following Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist certifications:
MCTS: Windows Server 2008 Active Directory Configuration
The MCTS Server 2008 Active Directory Configuration is ideal for network engineers who specialize on Active Directory. The certification candidate must pass a single exam. Depending on your experience level, less or more coursework may be required.
With certification training at New Horizons Southern California, the student will learn:
- Fundamentals of Active Directory services and roles
- Creating and configuring Active Directory services
- Working with objects and trust
- Active Directory sites and replication
- Implementing group policies
- Maintaining and troubleshooting Active Directory
- Working with certificates and certificate services
MCTS: Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure Configuration
The MCTS Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure certification focuses on Windows Server 2008 infrastructure configuration and maintenance. The successful candidate must pass one exam. With MCTS certification training at New Horizons Southern California, the student will learn:
- Fundamentals of Windows Server 2008 network infrastructure
- TCP/IP fundamentals, configuration and troubleshooting
- Security and firewalls
- Server 2008 load balancing
- Working with DNS, WINS and DHCP
- Remote access solutions
Depending on your experience level, less or more coursework may be required.
MCTS: Windows Server 2008 Applications Infrastructure Configuration
The MCTS Windows Server 2008 Applications Infrastructure certification is an excellent way to demonstrate your skill with Server 2008 installations as well as IIS and Terminal Services. With certification training at New Horizons Southern California, the student will learn:
- Windows Server 2008 installation and configuration
- Unattended installations
- Windows Deployment Services
- Upgrading and migrating to Server 2008
- Installing, configuring and maintaining IIS 7.0 Web Server
- Installing, configuring and maintaining Terminal Services
The successful candidate must pass a single exam. Depending on your experience level, less or more coursework may be required.
MCITP: Windows Server 2008 Certifications
Please Note: This certification will be retired on July 31, 2013. The MCSA: Windows Server 2008 certification and corresponding exams will remain in market.
MCITP: Server Administrator
The MCITP Server 2008 Administrator is an advanced certification for Windows Server 2008 Network Administrators. It is expected that candidates pursuing this certification have a minimum of one year experience working with Windows Server products. The MCITP Windows Server 2008 Administrator certification candidate must pass 3 exams. Two of these are prerequisite exams - please review the MCTS tab at left for details on these exams.
MCITP: Windows Server 2008 Enterprise Administrator
Please Note: This certification will be retired on July 31, 2013. The MCSA: Windows Server 2008 certification and corresponding exams will remain in market.
The MCITP Server 2008 Enterprise Administrator is an advanced certification for Windows Server 2008 Network Administrators. It is expected that candidates pursuing this certification have a minimum of one year experience working with Windows Server products. The MCITP Windows Server 2008 Enterprise Administrator certification candidate must pass 5 exams: one client operating system exam (Windows 7 shown below, there are also Vista options), three MCTS exams and one MCITP exam specific to this certification.
